This initiative, an embodiment of Penang\u2019s commitment to cultural celebrations, promises to make the Thaipusam festival more accessible and enjoyable for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The free ferry rides will be offered for 50 hours between 12.01am on Jan 24 and 2am on Jan 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The feeder bus ride to the Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple in Kebun Bunga will be from 2pm on Jan 24 and between 5.30am and 1am on Jan 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thaipusam, a vibrant and significant festival in the Hindu calendar, is celebrated with great fervor in Penang. It&#8217;s not just a religious event but a cultural spectacle, drawing people from all walks of life. In light of this, the Penang government&#8217;s decision to provide complimentary ferry and bus services is seen as a significant move to support the devotees in fulfilling their vows and to ease the travel of visitors coming to partake in the festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Free Ferry and Feeder Bus Services for Thaipusam will significantly alleviate traffic congestion and ensure a smoother movement of people, especially around the key locations of the Thaipusam celebrations. This initiative is particularly beneficial for families and elderly devotees, who can now partake in the celebrations without the stress of transportation costs or the challenges of navigating through heavy traffic.
